Tewantin Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre is open from 8:00am Monday to Friday.
No, you do not need a referral for physiotherapy if claiming personally or with your private health cover. If you are claiming via Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Work Cover or have an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you are required to bring in your Doctor’s Referral at the time of initial consultation. We have a great intiative called “GP in the Loop” which ensures informative communication between the treating physiotherapist and doctor.
To provide professional, personlised physio care, our standard appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes. Longer times will/can be arranged for more complex conditions (inc. women’s/men’s health) or multiple injuries.
Kindly bring your Doctor’s referral (should you have one) and any X-rays or scans pertaining to your condition. Private health card if applicable and for EPC patients please ensure you bring your Savings/Chq Account EFTPOS card and your Medicare Card.
Anything comfortable is recommended. We will endeavor to uphold your privacy in all circumstances although if there is anything in particular that you would prefer to wear that may expose the area of concern please do. All of our rooms are private rooms to ensure your condition is thoroughly examined and treated discreetly.
Meet and greet with front office staff and physiotherapist – You will fill out a minimal amount of paperwork eg. personal details, health history and health goals – Discuss current issue with physiotherapist – A detailed examination will be conducted to determine cause and reasons for condition/injury – A treatment plan will be formulated which will involve some manual treatment, a home exercise program and a future care plan.
We ask that you provide us with 24 hours notice should you wish to cancel your appointment. This will enable us to contact other patients on our waiting list who may require that time. We can provide a reminder call if you wish – please advise front office staff.
Mastercard, Visa, EFTPOS, Cash, Cheque – We also have the facility to be able to claim back your Medicare rebate through our HICAPS machine should you be on an EPC program
